Public Dog Training Classes at Glen Ellyn Park District (Main Street Recreation Center)

  • Puppy, Obedience and Reactive Classes are at Glen Ellyn's Main Street Recreation Center 501 Hill Avenue. Glen Ellyn IL 60137  MAP→​
  • BFF Dog Academy will follow Covid-19 guidelines including: masks are required, social distancing at all times, wash hands prior to training
  • All dogs must be up to date on vaccines including Rabies, Distemper (DHPP) and Bordetella and H3N2 vaccine and complete required paperwork as age appropriate
  • Classes are 30 - 45 minutes in length; limited to no more than 4-6 dogs. ​
  • There will be no refunds once the classes begin​

​General Obedience Class

$165
Dogs 6 months and older including dogs with no training especially rescues and dogs over 40 pounds.

Thursdays from June 2, 2022 to June 23, 2022 - 7pm to 7:45pm

​Learn to read your dog and communicate positively by using the core obedience skills: Focus/Watch me, come when called, walk with a loose leash, sit and down quietly, and stay for a reasonable length of time as well as go to bed/lay down. The class will also address problem behaviors. Your dog is never too old to become your BFF!

​Puppy Class

$165
Puppies ages 8 weeks and up to 6 months (and no larger than 40 pounds)

Saturdays from June 4, 2022 to June 25, 2022 - 9am to 9:45am

Learn how to communicate and bond with your puppy. This is an opportunity for your pup to also socialize with other pups while you receive information about housetraining, grooming, chewing, and jumping and basic obedience / core skills: Come when called, walk with a loose leash, sit and down quietly, and stay reliably for a short time. AKC S.T.A.R. certification evaluation given during class. 15 minutes of puppy socialization time included.

Reactive Class

$189
For dogs that are considered “reactive” (not aggressive- there is a difference)

Saturdays from June 4, 2022 to June 25, 2022 - 10am to 10:45am

We will train your dog within a defined “safe space” We’ll help you define if your dog is reactive or afraid by teaching how to read your dog/communicate positively using the core obedience skills: he class will also address individual problem behaviors such as nipping or jumping. Great for fosters and rescue dogs that are struggling with other dogs.
